Weekend of Football and Zoo...

This weekend was beautiful. The weather is getting so fall like. I love the need for a light jacket in the morning and the ability to shed it in the afternoon.  Brian and his dad went with the Cathcart men to Dallas to go to the Arkansas vs Texas A&M game at Dallas Stadium. I've only seen the stadium in pictures, but Brian said it is absolutely amazing. I cant wait to get to a game myself. Arkansas won their game, barely, but a win is a win, so WOO PIG SOUIE!

Nana came to Tulsa to spend the weekend with Rylie and I. We had a ball and Rylie loved seeing her Nana.  Saturday we woke up and started our day early by going to the Tulsa Zoo.  She seemed to really enjoy all the new sights she was exposed to. Now's the time to buy that Zoo Friends membership and start taking her regularly.  My mom used to take my sister and I all the time when we were kids. Great memories!  My mom and aunt Tracie went with us too. It was a girls weekend!!

My absolute FAVORITE picture of the day, and probably my favorite of all time at this point, is this one below.  Look at that little face. She is just amazing! Does it get any better than this??  I just don't think so!

Rylie was pretty worn out after the zoo, as were all of us. We all went home and took naps.  Sunday we woke up early again to start our day together.  I just cherish the weekends when I get to spend an entire 2 full days with my daughter.  We got up early and read a book and played, then she took a very short cat nap before church.  Rylie loves to be read to. She'll sit on my lap and engage in "reading time" at almost anytime. I love it!
Her feet don't touch the floor yet, but she seems to lover her bouncy car.

Trying to pick up her teething ring and not doing very well.

 Napping before church...

Rylie's little church dress is SO cute!  "Look everyone, I'm a big girl", she says!

2010 Tulsa State Fair...

It's funny, before we had Rylie I didn't understand why parents would take their newborns and infants to the fair. I honestly thought it was ridiculous to take an infant out in such surroundings when they wont even remember it anyway.  WELL...bite your tongue mommy...I just couldn't wait to take Rylie to the Tulsa State Fair this year!  (Having this child has really made me re-think a lot of things I used to believe when I was kid-less.) We had such a great time. She wont remember her first year to go to the fair, but I sure will.  It was a lot of fun.  We even went twice. First with Nana and Pops and then with Grammie and Aunt Tay Tay.

We seem to time Rylie's feeding just right for our outings, either that or she is just a really good baby. Friday night Rylie enjoyed walking around the animal barns on Pop's shoulder and wasn't scared at all by the many animals and people that were there.  She got in some good teething time on Pop's shoulder as well. He had a nice big slobber stain on his t-shirt. Pop's said it was worth it!

Daddy decided that he was going to win Rylie her first carnival game toy. And it only took him a couple of bucks worth of shots for him to make the basket! Way to go daddy!!! Of course mommy picked out the big PINK stuffed dog for her.

Nothin' but net!  Yay daddy!!

Then on Sunday afternoon, Grammie, Aunt Tay Tay and I took Rylie to the Fair Ice Capades to see Disney On Ice.  Again...not something I ever thought I would take a 15 week old baby to, but I just couldn't wait to get there with her.  She did SO good too. Of course she isn't nearly old enough to recognize what it was she was seeing, but the show definitely kept her attention and she seem to be very entertained by it.  And of course we were very entertained by her.

We all took turns holding her up high enough so she could see what was going on. The show really kept her attention without scaring her. It was great!

Rylie did very good through act 1 (an entire hour)...and she hung in there for about 15 minutes of act 2.  But when the lights went out, the lights definitely went out!!  She was in dream land, hopefully dreaming of all the skating princesses she got to see today.
Until next year Mickey and Minnie...

Cutest Razorback Fan...

Yes, Rylie will be growing up Razorback. We've already decided where she is going to college, I just hope her aspirations as she gets older jives with her parents wishes!  I guess we'll see in a quick 18 years!

Oops....must work on balance and strengthening those back muscles!  Can't be a razorback cheerleader if I fall over so easy she says.
